  1. 3320 miles after dipping our back tires in the Atlantic, we've dipped our front tires in the Pacific.
  2. Just how we imagined the last day would start: rain, intense fog, and an inch long piece of metal straight into Patrick's rear tire.
  3. 57 miles into the Cascade Mountains. Camped for the final time at Snoqualmie Pass, 50 miles from Seattle.
  4. 76 miles to Ellensburg passing agricultural Royal City, crossing the Columbia River and visiting Ginko petrified forest all in the WA desert
  5. 65 miles through wheat fields and nothingness to Othello, WA. Only 180 miles to go...
  6. First sign for Seattle...
  7. A long climb up Alpowa Summit before descending into the nice little town of Pomeroy. Then into the wind through Starbuck to Lyons Ferry.
  8. 3000 miles!
  9. 46 days after leaving Connecticut, we've arrived in our fourteenth and final state: Welcome to Washington!
  10. Saturday-A beautiful ride along the Lochsa through the Bitteroot Mountains, enjoying a midday swim before camping near Lowell, Idaho.
  11. Friday-A scenic ride over Lolo Pass through the evergreens crossing into Idaho and the Pacific Time Zone before camping on the Lochsa River.
  12. A scenic downhill ride through the Rockies to Missoula, the epicenter of adventure cycling. Now camped outside Lolo on a creek.
  13. Mountains in the morning, a headwind all afternoon. Made for a challenging ride along the Little Blackfoot River and on to Drummond.
  14. On the Continental Divide at 6325 feet...
  15. A nice morning ride along the Missouri to Helena where we visited the state capitol. Braved a strong headwind to the foot of McDonald Pass.
  16. Our fastest day by far- 15.7 mph! Crossed the three sources of the Missouri River before finding a campsite on the river near Toston.
  17. Just visited the Central Asia Institute to donate some money we've collected along the way...back on the road this afternoon...
  18. We now have a nine day break from the road - we're meeting Patrick's family tomorrow then heading to Yellowstone...
  19. We survived an intense hailstorm to make it past the Crazy Mountains and over Bozeman Pass (5800 feet) to Bozeman, MT.
  20. 2384 miles: Patrick's first flat tire.
