  6. At the Guggenheim's huge Kandinsky show. His earlier work doesn't move me, but the later stuff, starting around 1926, is stupendous. Wow.
  7. Left bike in backyard for 2 years. Lock is rusted shut. While carrying bike 4 blocks for tuneup, only 1 person asked, "Did you steal that?"
  8. It has come to my attention that some people spell "badonkadonk" with hyphens: "ba-donka-donk." This is deeply wrong.
  9. OutKast is making my eardrums happy.
  10. A truck owned by a paper-shredder company is on fire on the corner of 20th and 5th, spewing smoke and flames all over the place.
  11. These Beatles remasters are astonishing. I'm A/B'ing them with the old versions and the difference is remarkable.
  12. God, Jay Leno. This is excruciating. Tuned in out of curiosity and now I feel unclean.
  13. I'm unexpectedly looking down on Brooklyn from the Manhattan Bridge, because I forgot the N train doesn't stop at City Hall. Oops.
  14. I'm at Otto, where penne puttanesca, broccoli rabe, a martini, and extraordinarily cheesy '70s pop have left me totally blissed out.
  15. The waiter at Tabla just showed me an actual tamarind branch. I'd never seen one before.
  16. Somehow it's worked out that I'm seeing three movies today: Art & Copy, The Baader Meinhof Complex, and It Might Get Loud.
