  1. @acorn From my bookmarks - great article on Dubai (published in April) http://is.gd/54CA9
  2. China's "carbon intensity" reduction means only that "they would increase at a significantly slower rate" http://is.gd/54ttP
  3. Hmm.. "carbon intensity goal would not mean an absolute reduction in China’s greenhouse gas emissions" http://is.gd/54ttP Sounds great.
  4. What exactly is China committing to? http://is.gd/54tqc Cutting the "intensity of emission" sounds different from cutting the emissions.
  5. @acorn Well put. Kind of sad, really. You might be a third world country if..?
  6. In how many countries do commandos "showcase" their skills?
  7. @acorn @pragmatic_d If India were to declare (in secret, to US) a willingness to send troops to Afg, what do you think US rxn would be?
  8. @pragmatic_d Not impressed w/ Walt's advice to Obama. US isn't sending troops to Afg bcoz India says so.
  9. Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Singh in discussion http://is.gd/53me0 I wonder what the First Ladies of the world talk about at such meetings.
  10. "Solar Sisters" of Barefoot College are Finalists at BBC World Challenge 2009 http://is.gd/52emG
  11. "Sixty Hours of Terror" by Jason Motlagh in Virginia Quarterly Review http://is.gd/4ZyRd
  12. I'm getting addicted to crosswords again.
  13. @patrix The web version. Don't use any client.
  14. Indian news channels, OTOH, are mostly opinion. Can't even report Cricket scores, w/o getting into "villain of the day" or jingoism crap.
  15. For all its faults and biases, BBC is still *mostly* news (someone count the spread of news/opinion on it).
  16. I am curious. When exactly did the transition from "news channels" to "opinion channels" occur?
  17. @prempanicker Atherton didn't seem to have a point, except to say "no helmets in good ol' days".
  18. @patrix Yup, I saw that retweet.
  19. Hitchens on Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan http://is.gd/4XPbh
  20. RT @acorn: How the Barefoot College in Rajasthan trained women from Timbuktu (literally!) in installing solar power http://is.gd/4WSd3
