  1. Massenet's Werther (Vienna 2000) is the current opera available for streaming. The cast includes Marcello Giordani and Jennifer Larmore.
  2. Coming up: review of Central City Opera's productions of Lucia, A Little Night Music and Rinaldo.
  3. Coming up in our Goethe series is Mignon by Thomas.
  4. We continue with our theme of music based on the works of Goethe. The current offering is the 2008 performance of Faust at Vienna.
  5. Jim Van Sant has posted a review of Santa Fe Opera's production of La traviata in which Natalie Dessay attempts to perform Violetta.
  6. OT is covering the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. The finalists have been named. Winner to be announced Sunday.
  7. The Centre Pompidou is holding exhibitions of works by Kandinsky and Calder. I cannot recommend the Kandinsky exhibition enough.
  8. On vacation/holiday in Paris. Fantastic Der Freischütz on Arte last night live from Baden-Baden. Look for it on DVD in coming months.
  9. Current theme based on works by Schiller. First offering is Verdi's Luisa Miller.
