  6. Allan Bennet's handwriting really sucks. I got used to Fuller's wonderful and clear style.
  7. @duffmcduffee After all, the Buddha counseled us not to believe something simply because wise men said so but to go by our own experiences.
  8. @duffmcduffee I wound counter "What is your argument for theism?" Why should I believe in gods without any evidence? They make nice stories.

  14. @ZenDirtZenDust Drop what? Theism? Part of the reason I became a Buddhist was being I was not much of a theist. It's pretty atheistic.
  15. @shamansun Because the Buddha isn't a god and Buddhism is, for the most part, a rather atheistic philosophy and spirituality.
  16. It seems like a lot of Buddhists are theists, which always strikes me as odd.
  17. @ioerror The unification of Europe is inevitable.
  18. We judge ourselves based on our intent but others based on their results (this isn't a proposal, just an observation that I've read...)
  19. Finished @doctorow's new novel, Makers, yesterday. I think it is his best book yet and captures the spirit of hardware hackers.
  20. @bruces I have heard mixed reviews of the World SF collection. Have you read it?
