  1. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight. I'm still hoping it will just be rain. Snow is no novelty here. I'd rather wait.
  2. Refutation of charge (based on computer code comments) of presenting bogus tree ring data by CRU: http://bit.ly/5vO7GP
  3. To all you folks around Boston waiting for my recommendation before going to Handel & Haydn Soc. Messiah—I give it an A+. Tonight/Sun aft.
  4. Who'd have guessed Houston would have snow before Boston? The rare snowfalls in Texas were very exciting to me as a kid there.
  5. V going into school late (missing Health class!) because she got only 4.5 hours of sleep. More than I got, actually.
  6. V just now finishing her homework at 2:20. W has another bunch of visitors coming this weekend though finals start Dec 14. Different.
  7. @topknot But look at the title you chose for the link.
  8. @topknot There's *nothing* linking Palin & Huckabee to Rushdoony in the piece, just an assertion that Warren might oppose gay marriage.
  9. RT @HeismanNews Staubach to vote for Texas' McCoy for Heisman http://bit.ly/6Os2JJ - CBS
  10. @mkixi One man's mispronunciation is another man's contraction. But "you all" is used also with the same meaning of all-purpose plural you.
  11. Judith Curry: This is a black eye on our whole field. We have to show that this is real science, not political science. http://bit.ly/7jnY18
  12. @RogervonOech Me.
  13. @davemark Congratulations on the milestone! Looking forward to the book.
  14. @mkixi "All of y'all" means every last one of you, as in "Are all of y'all going?" But you could say "Are y'all going?" Plural both cases.
  15. @mkixi I'm a "native speaker." "Y'all" is plural, period. It's not silly because English needs a second person plural.
  16. @Mike_Askew Are you saying y'all actually use y'all in the singular in NC? I'll have to hear it out in the wild to believe it.
  17. Good visits with V's teachers. Geometry teacher discovered V actually had A for the quarter. A 100 had been counted as 00. 2 digit limit?
  18. @Mike_Askew I spent first 23 years of my life in Texas plus another 5 later. "Never* have I heard y'all used as singular except by Yankees.
  19. .@Mike_Askew "Y'all" is *plural*. If you say "y'all" to an individual, you're implicitly including his family (or other group he's in) .
  20. V was dreading today's 5 mile outdoor run for track practice. She got to bed "early" last night (11:30). Hil & I meet with teachers tonight.
