  1. 'due to a faulty train' said the announcer,it sounds odd, more like fawlty. Suddenly, I wonder,is that how they came up with Fawlty Towers?
  2. My neighbours hard partying ends just as I am getting up. Does my hard vacumming and loud out of tune singing start now ?
  3. 1st May. April showers seem to be the straggling party guests whose cab never seems to arrive. London is constantly sheltering in a doorway.
  4. Voting. First step find the polling station. A nonscript hall you will have walked past many times and seen but not ever noticed.
  5. I have a Primark Bowling bag. So do many others. But when I see one in the same fabric I am still surprised and clutch mine tighter .
  6. Two painter/decorators walk past , their clothes splattered with paint. The lingering impression they leave is the scent of washing powder.
  7. Heavy rain and black thunder clouds. We all sit at our desks hoping that someone else will need lunch first and so get ours as well.
  8. walking through carpets of cherry blossom brought down by the rain. Feels like I just missed the wedding party.
  9. All afternoon meetings at an external venue. Decanters of Orange Squash are extinct. But Fox's Glacier Mints still roam the earth.
  10. Writing in a Moleskine. Love the hardcovers, rounded off edges, ribbon book mark, creamy pages , the satisfying twang of the elastic closer.
  11. Selecting sweet potatoes from the display in the supermarket. How many times have these been selected and graded before I made my choice?
  12. Half way between day and night. Is it time to draw the curtains yet ?
  13. Listening to the birds sing and watching the sun come out after the late April showers.
