  1. Trip to HK made me realise I got used to compromising in the UK. I expect to be complaining more than usual once back.
  2. Friendly, helpful, fast, effective. Hong Kong customer service is second to none. I've never been happier to tip, though none is expected.
  3. Using prepositions in function/method names is almost always a waste of keystrokes.
  4. @erminio Movie could be better, tho. That's not to say it's bad...
  5. Once or twice a year I get reminded what a pain in the ass working with word processors is. Today's one of those days.
  6. Enjoying declaring intent when playing pool these days. It means @michael_jones will be wining significantly less once he's back.
  7. Most BDD frameworks make me think "bureaucracy". Too much peripheral writing/typing before something gets actually done.
  8. @michael_jones sure
  9. @gar3thjon3s There's some sense in the Jones family after all.
  10. So many years of acts_as_* Rails plugins and people still call them that... It doesn't "act as" - it *is*.
  11. RT @burger_tuesday: Burgers are go!
  12. If you extract a private method only to use it once "for readability", you might as well write a comment.
  13. A 3-line method with calls to 3 10-line private methods is not small and is worse than a version with the private methods inlined.
  14. Me on automating first deployment setup: http://bit.ly/4zxGJF
  15. @capotribu Bring on the commodity hardware.
  16. Spent Saturday making an Erlang cluster at home out of the MacBook Air, the Dell Mini 10 and my relic Compaq Presario.
  17. Zapped iPhone NetNewsWire. I want an RSS reader not a Google Reader client....
  18. The slurp and spit Clojure functions are pretty nice (and not just because they're called slurp and spit).
  19. Should never forget the genius of Bill Bailey's Tinselworm. Das ist verboten.
  20. Horton Heat tickets are go.
