  9. There are aspects of science that the public doesn't understand well, & it is difficult to try and educate them w/o appearing condescending.
  10. I think if ppl admit they might be wrong, and show others respect that they can have meaningful dialog. We all won't agree on everything. :)
  11. Fundamentalists and atheists who seek to win arguments turn off those who might agree with other aspects of their philosophy.
  12. It is common, and natural for humans to seek answers and desire some "spirituality". If it doesn't cause harm, I don't challenge those ppl.
  13. Unscientific claims with no demonstrated efficacy can in fact harm others (choosing homeopathy or prayer over medicine).
  14. If people want to make supernatural/untestable claims, they may, but that isn't science.
  15. The universe behaves in a predictable way, and the scientific method is the only reproducible way of understanding it.
  16. I really only take umbrage with those who have a literal dogma that drives them to vocally deny science and mislead the public.
  17. I may disagree with tolerant, intelligent religious folks, because our standards and need for evidence and adherence to science differs.
