@ Agreed; and Tivo fees+cablecard rent is cheaper. Still have the Tivo buy, but the interface and connectivity is way better.

@ FIOS install was painless, 20 min or so but get the Tivo 1-2 days earlier so you can have guided setup done b4 FIOS installer

@ You want to ask for an "M" (multistream) card. TivoHD takes 1 M or 2 S cards, rental on each is the same (so 1 M is cheaper)

@ The TivoHD hooks to the same coax the FIOS STB used; it uses a cablecard to decode it -- no IR channel switching.

FIOS TV minus FIOS set top box plus cablecard plus TivoHD = Win. Bonus, no FIOS STB, no need for wonky Verizon coax router. Yay!
