  1. RT @buzzflash: Obama Quietly Backs Patriot Act Provisions. What Next, More Troops for Iraq? http://ipsnorthamerica.net/...
  2. @amiel I use Sprint EVDO (just replacing a Top Global 6800 with an MBR1200 from @evdoinfo), plus opportunistic WiFi.
  3. Aboard Nomadness - the Outback inverter/charger, Flexnet DC monitor, Ethernet hub, and MATE display are installed. Next: solar & network.
  4. @jeffdeham Yes, the BEHEMOTH of today would not be a behemoth. No trailer, fewer speeds, no landing gear, easier all around. <sigh>
  5. @Technomadia Frustrated that iStockPhoto rejected full-res images from 7.1 MP Canon, citing noise (not content). Know of a spec document?
  6. Working on the next layer of power-management tools on the boat, as well as designing the lab/studio area for full-time aboard.
  7. The kluge umbilicus to the mobile lab has been eliminated - we have switched shore power, breaker panel, and outlets. Next is DC system.
  8. Steel desk empty and ready to move into mobile lab; now wiring "local" fused GFCI outlet upstream of inverter-charger for dev convenience.
  9. Offer accepted on a Cascade 27 for Sky to live aboard while I focus on Nomadness (renting out house/lab). Now for sea trial & survey.

  11. @amiel Come visit sometime! I see you got your Sardine... very purty! I'm off to boat this week to finish power mgmt and design lab space.
  12. @amielmartin Yes - the boat will have about a dozen Arduino nodes and a central Linux server. There is a summary here: http://bit.ly/3tjyw
  13. AC inlet to mobile lab is now wired to breaker panel and AC voltmeter. Nice to see things lighting up a bit...
  14. Huge winds a-comin'. Working on lab-shutdown plan, mobile lab startup, boat-move logistics, and the initial steps on new ship server.
  15. Wrapping up 9-day road trip to Silicon Valley... excited about getting back to work on Nomadness, Polaris, and the move.
  16. Visited BEHEMOTH (my bicycle) at the Computer History Museum... great to see it, as well as their amazing collection.
  17. Turning back north after a few whirlwind days in Silicon Valley... time to begin long winter stretch of boat geekery.
  18. New Outback FX2012 inverter/charger is installed on the boat and working nicely. Peripherals on next work trip; old Prosine goes to trailer
