  1. Ben's writing his Christmas list, and just asked me how to spell "thingy". Santa may have some interpretation and extrapolation to do.
  2. I don't think I'd ever heard the word "mucus" on TV until a few weeks ago. Now it seems that every cold medecine ad features it prominently.
  3. Headed home from cutting the Christmas tree. First year in a while that it was neither raining nor dark when we got to the farm.
  4. Took a Buster Keaton-esque spill down the porch steps this morning, then had to get the kids to school wondering if I'd crushed my computer.
  5. Playing the RCHA tonight with James Wannamaker, Seam Jensen, and Cam Schaeffer.
  6. Our bed has a wooden frame that sticks out three inches all the way around the box spring. I'm developing shins like a Muay Thai fighter.
  7. Windows is awesome: http://yfrog.com/1yj4ghj -- after much deliberation, I went with "Yes".
  8. It's shocking -- shocking -- to hear that Peter MacKay lied about detainee handovers. He's usually so honest: http://bit.ly/7rpi5J

  10. Went to get in the car tonight and found a guy passed out by the front wheels. I hardly noticed him; if I hadn't, I would have run him over.
  11. The best goalie in the NHL is whoever happens to be playing against the Leafs on any given night. Tonight it's Dwayne Roloson.
  12. Just watched Queen's win the Mitchell Bowl. Vanier Cup next weekend. http://yfrog.com/3lqm0j
  13. Hilarious animated re-enactment of Dock Ellis's 1970 no-hitter, which he pitched while on LSD: http://bit.ly/4ATQXL
  14. Just got back from Lyle Lovett at the NAC. Awesome. His Large Band is unbelievable.
  15. Fantastic pictures of Mars from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter: http://bit.ly/4tyHRu (Boston.com)
  16. H1N1 catch-22: if lots of people die, the health care system failed; if few people die, the threat was exaggerated. Maybe the system works.
  17. Scathing New Yorker review of SuperFreakonomics on climate change: http://bit.ly/3rSdIM -- geoengineering sounds like "monorail, monorail".
  18. Great title on a Paul Krugman post: "The plural of anecdote is data". http://bit.ly/10EnY7
  19. Took the kids for a walk at Gould Lake on Saturday. We didn't make it very far, but fun nonetheless. http://yfrog.com/1rmupj
  20. The Higgs Boson has enlisted birds and baguettes in its campaign to sabotage the Large Hadron Collider from the future: http://bit.ly/2X7sl6
