  1. Best meal Marrakech: la Table du Marche. Fab chicken tagine, pastilla. Mandarin Oriental opens March, Indian fantasy. Love Riad Farnatchi.
  2. Pure Life Experiences, Marrakech--trav. conference. Lunch @Cafe de la Poste, dinner Le Foundouk. Loved Riad Farnatchi, redone La Mamounia.
  3. Just left fun cocktail party @ Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London (T+L, Food&Wine. Exec Travel). Great food, int'l travel world players.
  4. At Hix, in London. Native and rock oysters, purple-tipped broccoli, chicken salad w hazlenuts, wild watercress. Portobello Road this AM.
  5. At Yves Durif, @Carlyle, for haircut with Yves (fabulous), color (David), and nails (Emily). Also salade nicoise on tray, so refined.
  6. Recommendations: Anish Kapoor at Guggenheim(Kandinsky, of course); Serge Sabarsky at Neue Gallerie; Bar Boulud--good Coq au Vin, Burgundies.
  7. Gino, 61st & Lex, last nite--Upper Eastside hangout. Today in NY: Kandinsky at Guggenheim; Samurai + at Met; shop for lightweight tote bag.
  8. Great NYC restos: Le Caprice, in Pierre Hotel--London transplant; fabulous opening party last week; and Aureole, on W. 42nd St (relocated)
  9. Just off geat charter yacht (ebacon@nycc.rr.com) from 79th St Basin, cocktail/dinner cruise around Statue of Liberty for friend's birthday,
  10. New Brooks Bros women's store, 44th St: great sale on summer clothing, including by Thom Browne, blazers, shirts, pajamas. Improved styling.
  11. Chicken paillard @Monkey Bar may be best around. Havannas, choc-covered dolce de leche cookies brought by friend from BA, also a hit.
  12. City Crab on B'way, NYC, lots of fun--and good, too.
  13. Lunch at Red Inn, Provincetown: oysters + lobster salad. Biked national seashore am--post coffee at Relish. Good coffee, too: Wired Puppy.
  14. Driving 2 Provincetown--breakfast @coffee shop in New Haven. Stopped by Atticus, cafe/bookshop (great selection).
  15. Afternoon in Millerton, NY: McEnroe's Farm Stand, Millerton Antiques Center, Harneys, Hunter Bee; + new art space, Wassaic Project, nearby.
  16. Just left Central Park, after fireworks following Alan Gilbert conducting the Philarmonic--Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn. Magical.
  17. In Central Park listening to Alan Gilbert conduct the Philarmonic. Beethoven's 7th Symphony. A real treat.
