  1. How many times has @storageanarchy avatar chaged today? Barry are you using FAST to auto-migrate between different imges :-P
  2. @SFoskett Clearly not so, but I'll trust you that it was all in gest. You guys with your insecurities trying to tell me you appreciate me
  3. Wow!! Just realised EMC Managed to ship FAST before @StorageNerve got his anticipated and now much delayed new logo up on his site :-D
  4. @BasRaayman not sure about that. BTW how is the new site coming along? - www.basraayman.com
  5. @SFoskett who needs enemies when you have "mates" like @Knieriemen @StorageNerve @edsai and your good self ;-)
  6. @SFoskett Hmmm hoping I get better press than I did on Infosmack - http://bit.ly/70sliW when I wasnt able to join the call ;-) @Knieriemen
  7. RT @xsigo: Are Cisco and HP steering us to back closed architectures? http://bit.ly/2q604L
  8. RT @dvellante: Floyer piece on virtual io http://bit.ly/4A0Vax #wikibon
  9. Reading around EMC FAST makes me wonder if the likes of IBM XIV are JBOD-like in comparison?? Not that Im sold on FAST though!
  10. @dvellante where do the other 97 units go? power, cooling and other environmentals??
  11. RT @storageanarchy: RT @EMCEducation: Did you get the FAST update? EMC Engineers talk about it next week on webcast http://bit.ly/8mukBe
  12. @bradhedlund @scott_lowe Im playing catch up after kids to bed. Brad, r there any docs that explain how this works and is implemented?
  13. RT @unixplayer: @nigelpoulton it is interesting - boiling down the server into it bare minimum - processor and memory (pure compute) <-- YES
  14. For those watching on - IOV explained for thse interested - http://bit.ly/7XmaC4 and SR-IOV in particular here - http://bit.ly/63SZFm
  15. @unixplayer absolutely! move the IO adapter out of the server to an aggregator = flexible, virtual, stateless, simple, less cable, GREEN!
  16. RT @scott_lowe: @bradhedlund I'm sure you'll be confused only until Cisco starts doing it. playful jab ;-) <-- like it! :-D
  17. @bradhedlund @scott_lowe @robellison it would be confusing if the PF is in a physical server. Move the PF to an external aggregator
  18. @bradhedlund @scott_lowe Brad the value is flexibility, why shackle VFs to a single server?
  19. RT @scott_lowe @bradhedlund @robellison Further simplification of infra. A single PF with multiple VFs shared among systems <- agreed
  20. @bradhedlund @scott_lowe @robellison Value = have 2 physical CNAs and carve up multiple VFs and present them to 10 servers.
