  2. Had a very unique bottle of 1983 Chateau Loupiac Gaudiet. A White Bordeaux wine with the richness of an aged Sauternes. A really good wine!
  3. 2005 Kistler McCrea Chardonnay drinking very well. Floral, stoney, rich wine. http://www.santarosafinewine.com/proddetail.asp?prod=K00308
  4. Out of curiousity, tried a 1986 Beringer Private Reserve Cab. Not flawed, just past maturity and not enjoyable, so down the drain it went!
  5. Numerous Burgundy tasting notes of wines opened with friends in Sonoma: http://santarosafinewine.blogspot.com/2009/11/sonoma-burg-team.html
  6. Enjoyed a well aged bottle of 1986 Freemark Abbey Sycamore and 1987 Freemark Abbey Bosche at Market in St. Helena tonight with friends.

  8. 2000 Dom Perignon was a good starter wine for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday! Green apple, lemon, crisp. Lighter in style than 1998 and 1996!
  9. Thinking French wines from 1982 and 1985 would go nicely with Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow. And perhaps a 1983 Sauternes . . .
  10. A terrible bottle of 93 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon tonight. Dumped down the drain shortly after tasting. Oxidized and heat damaged. :(
  11. Some other interesting reds tasted: 1999 Dujac Morey St. Denis, 1998 Jayer-Gilles Echezeaux and 2001 Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze!
  12. Tasted a 2001 Leroy Pommard Les Vignots - Rich fruit, minty, meaty, become carmel, spiced, overall great structure, and good complexity!
  13. Tasted a few awesome White Burgundies this weekend: 2004 Jadot Meursault Charmes and 2004 Bouchard Meursault Genevrieres!
  14. Tasted a great bottle of 2008 Quivet Cellars Carneros Syrah this weekend. Great taste and excellent value! Reminded me of a 2005 Lillian!
  15. Tasting a 2005 Williams Selyem Bucher Pinot Noir with dinner tonight. It is dominated by ripe cherry and strawberry fruit. A just ok wine!
  16. 1997 Ponsot Clos de la Roche with dinner tonight. Smokey meats, orange rind, game and mint. Tasted and looked like a good, but older wine.
  17. The 2003 Bond Matriarch is dominated by dark fruits, oak, and black currant. Very full bodied wine. Good wine to go with a red sauce pizza!
  18. Homemade Pizza with buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil and tomato for dinner tonight. 2003 Bond Matriarch sounds like a good wine choice!
  19. An awesome mid week dinner at Bungalow 44 in Mill Valley with a few legendary wines . . . http://santarosafinewine.blogspot.com/
  20. Tasted a 2000 Colgin Herb Lamb for the 4th time now, consistently excellent. http://bit.ly/4pWrSi
