  1. @gravitywins folks, peeps, pals
  2. This is @antichrista, on your screen, in 3D: http://bit.ly/HHTr1
  3. @dalasv When did I •force• anyone to do anything, jeez :)
  4. @cbarrett Familiarity with the person you're talking to makes a world of difference. This is why I can comfortably call my wife "jerkface".
  5. @dalasv No, or sentences like "she's a great guy" would be commonplace. It's only part of English the way "mankind" is - chauvinistically.
  6. @dalasv Yes, a sexist part of some dialects. Saying "men" to mean "men and women" is a longlived male convention, wrong as it is old.
  7. @fabrini Ask some women how they feel about being called "guys."
  8. Obama scores points when he apologetically quits bad habits, so here's a folksy one he should drop: calling a mixed-sex group "guys".
  9. Given the number of excellent editions, you can freely choose your Shakespeare by jacket design (of which there are also many great ones).
  10. I felt like a sucker buying a $6 jar of local pickles - Sweet Creek, the only brand they had - but jesus this is good. Almost buttermilk-y.
  11. Happy Resolution Independence Day!
  12. @nedley who all is there? How long are you staying?
  13. Once again it sounds like the time half my city started shooting at the other half. Sorry to be a downer, but, err, I'll be on my iPhone.
  14. @joshdi you should totally see it, and nevermind my opinion :)
  15. Spicy turkey burgers with cream & onion, green onion salad, strawberry shortcake, chocolate stout. Good night and good luck.
  16. @erdenfeind Let flame what flame may!
  17. Really, the title is pretty weak - the precious specificity of '2001', the insecure 'A'; the meaningless reference to Homer.
  18. 'Moon' was good, a little underwhelming. It occurs to me that 'A Space Odyssey' is a better title for it than for Kubrick's movie.
  19. @davehayden Fox Tower. I don't know how we missed Alex in the theater.
  20. I knew it would be a lot to get through, and I'd heard about all the appetizers, but jeez, this still feels like a chore. #infinitesupper
