  1. Just updated NearSys.com with edited directions, a programming kit, and latest publications (116 to date).
  2. I'll be packing solder kits. I need to have them ready to be send out when ordered.
  3. The plastic has been cut, now to pack parts and the wood braces. I hope to have nearly a dozen robot body kits ready for the 4H.
  4. Four new members in the Topeka 4H robot club. I'm cutting plastic for more robot body kits.
  5. Tonight the Topeka 4H is soldering their robot controllers in my class. They're working on CheapBot-14's like the Lawrence 4H.
  6. My next article is on the Smart Proximity Detector I desgined. The Lawrence 4H will build them after their robots learn to line follow.

  8. I met with the Topeka, 4H Saturday. They have started a robot club with the CheapBots. Now to get them ready for competition in July.
  9. Sent in my next N&V article. It's about a near space infrared telescope. Want to write the next on either the horizon or a sun sensor.
  10. Completed the wheel/motor and H-Bridge simulator with Squeak eToys. I need to add the I/O pins next.
  11. One of my next tasks is to produce an assessment for CheapBots. I plan to make them my research project.
  12. Tried Squeak eToys? It's a menu driven program language that let's kids write programs and games. I'm producing a robot simulator with it
  13. LCD screen is working again, I bent a wire and unattached it. I had an idea to develop a talking dog collar after the movie "Up"
  14. The LCD screen was attached to teh controller and worked. But I'll be darned, I bolted the box close and it doesn't work now!
  15. A success. the CheapBot hadn controller is reading its push buttons. Now to mount the LCD and later to program for the radios
  16. Drilling holes for the CheapBot hand controller. Need to mount the antenna and LCD screen.
