  1. At every song I think, "This is my favorite XTC song."
  2. Newest episode of @coverville is all about XTC. :-)
  3. This is awesome (via @codinghorror): http://codeoffsets.com
  4. @nocash They advocate browser sniffing. Bleh.
  5. Good cover of "Mad World" except the singer says "fermiliar" instead of "familiar". http://is.gd/4TBY8
  6. @agilous That's an excellent idea.
  7. I also hate "35mm equivalent" focal lengths. Just tell people the angle of view - that's what you're equating anyway.
  8. @vistavision I *hate* the fake "wattage" measurement they put on lightbulbs. Just use lumens, jackasses - that's what they're for!
  9. Just saw someone quote NPR as saying, "...utterly captivating." The original probably said, "Butterly captivating." I'm sure of it.
  10. @williac I like to think of Gargamel as the first and least-successful Pokémon trainer.
  11. Does it count as altruism if you do it selfishly, but chance conspires to give all the benefit to others?
  12. Ah, creepy computer-lookin'-at-stock-photo-guy, we've had some good times together.
  13. "Please complete this form for immediate download of this FREE guide:" Seriously, Thawte?
  14. Why do I have "We Built This City on Rock and Roll" stuck in my head?
  15. Let there be no doubt, daylight saving time is evil.
  16. Warning: adjectives placed ambiguously will be mentally applied for maximum humor.
  17. One of the most satisfying things about SSH is that there's no unencrypted mode. Encryption is so cheap and easy, why would you not use it?
  18. @nocash Happy birth day!
  19. @vistavision One could compete well with Roto-Rooter with trucks that said "carpet cleaning" and calling their business "Discreeto-Rooter".
  20. @joechummer Six years is a pretty good run for a hard drive. I'd buy a new one and transfer stuff off while you still can.
