  1. As of yesterday, my church history class is officially over. Now it's time to start gearing up for next semester. Reformation, here we come!

  3. Finished making the Historical Theology final exam today. Creating exams is hard work. But it's admittedly more fun than taking them.
  4. Brought home 6 huge boxes and made a fort for the kids. They loved it. Sometimes there's nothing better than lots of cardboard and duct tape
  5. It is good to be home, but it means that vacation is officially over. Now it's time to get back to work. And there is lots to do.
  6. There's nothing like walking through the door after a long journey. We are finally home.
  7. Eating lunch in a town named Los Banos. The name isn't the most appetizing, but we're hungry enough.
  8. Made it to Sacramento! Only 5 more hours, but we'll save those for tomorrow.
  9. Just ordered at a Pizza Factory near Shasta Lake. Pizza sounds SO good right now.
  10. Just about to drive through Eugene, OR. ... home of Harvest House Publishers.
  11. Driving home today. Just about to cross from WA into OR. Beautiful day for a road trip.
  12. My Historical Theology classes have a major research project due on Monday. I wonder how many of my students are just starting on it today.
  13. Played freeze tag with the kids this morning. It's wet and cold here in WA -- which makes freeze tag all the more ... well, wet and cold.
  14. Reading through comments on Pulpit about The Manhattan Declaration: http://grace.ly/manhattan. Some responses seem overly acerbic.
  15. Today I'm finishing up an article on apologetics that was due a month ago. It feels like I'm back in high school, and late on my term paper.
  16. Yesterday, we drove to WA state (20 hours away). 10 hours was through pouring rain. Today, I learned Nov. is the rainiest month in the NW.
  17. The Reformation was not just a date in 1517. It grew as a movement from the 12th-17th centuries. From Waldo to Wycliffe to Huss to Luther.
  18. Eating fast food in the car at night while wearing a suit and tie is dangerous.
  19. We think of the Middle Ages as ancient and archaic. They thought of themselves as modern. What will future generations think of us?
  20. The fall of Constantinople in 1453 ended the Middle Ages. The battle featured the use of a 27-foot canon that could shoot up to a mile away.
