  1. @EmpriseReview Shopping, though really just observing.
  2. Just had my first taste of 3am Black Friday desperation. Man capitalism is depressing/dehumanizing.
  3. On a related note, I finished The Lost Symbol. I rank at as much better than Digital Fortress and Deception Point. Equiv to A&D and DVC.
  4. @pankmagazine In my defense, my undergrad degree is in neurobio...he is wrong about science, I imagine the same is true of art/philosophy?
  5. Another The Lost Symbol pet peeve: DB describes the brain as having three layers (dura, pia, arachnoid). That's the meninges, not the brain.
  6. @RobertSwartwood Sticking my laptop into a banana was not my finest moment. Totally psychosomatic, but I felt more creative with a mac.
  7. @RobertSwartwood My opinion: The "Apple tax" is very high, but the user experience I had was fantastic. I really enjoyed using it.
  8. @RobertSwartwood In its defense a friend once slipped a banana into my bag which I rammed the laptop into, frying half the ports. So...my b.
  9. @RobertSwartwood Old Powerbook g4, had it for 5 years. So no longevity issues there. I think it was the motherboard.
  10. @RobertSwartwood We're jealous. Every since my mac died last fall and I replaced with a PC, I've missed it (self-loathingly, but I do).
  11. On the ninth day, God created the guacamole burger and saw that it was good.
  12. [con'd] "In another life, this heavy shaft of flesh had been his source of carnal pleasure. But no longer" Oh DB, I want to plagiarize you.
  13. My favorite line so far: "Hanging beneath this archway, his massive sex organ bore the tattooed symbols of his destiny..."
  14. And, for what it's worth, his description of the logistics of Langdon's 500 person lecture in Sanders Theatre are also ridiculous.
  15. Dan Brown's description of Harvard students in The Lost Symbol is degrading to students everywhere.
  16. @jjprescottroy Yep. Just add some line breaks.
  17. @jjprescottroy Write poetry? Just kidding.
  18. This week in @nanoism: stories by Elaine Isaak (@elaineisaak), Kathleen Gerard, and Steve Calvert.
  19. @slalaurette Thanks for rec, I've added it to "the list"
  20. @slalaurette I'm with you. Read Borges, not Arlt. Good enough story and I'll forget about the writing eventually.
