  1. @wired Monocle has to be one of the best forward-looking culture mags. Great format, worldwide coverage, inspiring photos, solid writing.
  2. Urban summer has begun! The "drive-io" (driveway/patio) is flush with container gardens, grill's on, and kids' skinned knees abound. Joy.
  3. Kenneth Branaugh as Kurt Wallander. Brilliant.
  4. Dealing with the Gov's threat to unallot Local Government Aid. It'd be twice in one year of unilaterally undercutting core city services.
  5. @fourthirtyam Fantastic article -- thanks for reminding me this site was out there!
  6. Great $7.95 "wee lunch" at The Liffey in St Paul today. Perfect-sized Rachel with a completely satisfying serving of fries and field greens.
  7. Love this way of gathering web info. Folders based on how often you want to review: http://www.slate.com/id/2217353/
  8. Just tried brats direct from Lighthouse Farm http://www.lighthousefarm.com Deliver regularly to Twin Cities. Local, grass-fed, fantastic.
  9. "Onion rings" at Longfellow Grill are fantastic. Flour-based batter is much like one for calamari. Light and lovely.
  10. Great hike at Taylors Fall. Can't imagine a better spring day. Also loving commentaries today from Frank Rich (NYT) and Harry Boyte (Strib).
  11. Bottled water sales down 10%, city tap water rediscovered. (Time mag http://tinyurl.com/ccenss) Good for teeth, cost-savings, and the earth!
  12. Great class last night. All reported on organizing activities, amazed by the confidence gained and progress made. The UofM's CDC is a gem.
  13. NYTimes Design mag: more commentary on Tropicana's design debacle. Instead of defensiveness, recognize it actually was just bad design.
  14. The Twins are kings of the comeback. They always do their best in those last few innings. Tonight was a joy to watch.
  15. You have to see this PacMan re-enactment. Only the French could do a prank so well. The final "life" is the best. http://bit.ly/Swlv0
  16. @ms_rezai Completely! The alternative, though, is the tropical flavor of calcium chews (even worse) or the pill version (gaggably huge)
  17. 7 yr old's nightmare a 4am wakeup call. Benefit: found great article-txs, Vincent R-on civic engagement & Web 2.0: http://tinyurl.com/cb7878
  18. FINALLY -- A.O. Scott, best film writer of all time, is Tweeting (or at least he has a few followers -- I assume posts are in the offing)
  19. RT @seankershaw Yes! The term "Sustainable" has lost its meaning & impact. "Resilient" is more dynamic, implies change and positive response
  20. Juxtaposing participation in TeaParty and CityYear. Is anti-govt sentmt generational? One more reason cities should engage Millenials
