@ it's a very tricky sequence to get right and twitter doesn't do it justice, but that's the basic sequence. A video would help.

@ your phone is salvageable but not thru any program (itunes, irecovery, rslite, blackrain, etc)..you need a keypress-based fix

@ short answer: no. The HW trick was just to get customized baseband written to NOR. The 3GS bootrom would reject customized NOR:(

@ the tethered JB boot isn't a full restore each time..it's much quicker, just sends one file (the kernel) and boots
