  1. @cOoLRaLpH @evanhindra @doitupyo oops it's tweetie misbehaving on me in Sydney, sorry:)
  2. @brandonlang it's a very tricky sequence to get right and twitter doesn't do it justice, but that's the basic sequence. A video would help.
  3. @brandonlang you need basically a "blind" entry into DFU mode. Connect via USB,screen comes on,press both, wait screen off, release top, wait
  4. @brandonlang your phone is salvageable but not thru any program (itunes, irecovery, rslite, blackrain, etc)..you need a keypress-based fix
  5. @iphoneht1234 that's great...refurb 3GS seems to be the way to go for at least a few more weeks I'd estimate, to avoid tethered
  6. @ronaldsb short answer: no. The HW trick was just to get customized baseband written to NOR. The 3GS bootrom would reject customized NOR:(
  7. @Itsugawakun a crash would involve among other things a complete loss of signal and any call would be dropped
  8. @tjm79 the iTunes unlock process won't even notice the phone it's unlocking is also jailbroken
  9. @bipolarartist no I'm afraid not
  10. @nikilaus2005 yep just neuter+unlock...the fakeblank is for advanced payloads that you probably won't need
  11. @robsleezy didn't realize it was OTA...iTunes wasn't involved at all?
  12. @dayloon macbook pro, and thankfully my work lets me use it as my work computer too
  13. @xserve2 @mattydoga I've been in Sydney about 1.5 days it's fantastic here!
  14. @giuseppeliverin right, the filesystem is untouched by this extra step and your data will be intact
  15. @Gojohnnyboi the hardest part is the comms through USB but all that stuff @marcan42 has released covers that part
  16. @Antonio15020 no I don't think would ever happen..the iPhone SDK is too deeply rooted in Apple's XCode infrastructure
  17. @giuseppeliverin the tethered JB boot isn't a full restore each time..it's much quicker, just sends one file (the kernel) and boots
  18. @elektricrain yeah the pushfix was very experimental...it's most reliable when the cert comes from another of your own devices
  19. @doddyforjesus not sure, thought the main problem with 0.8 was the USB replug glitch
  20. @ptpuffers rule of thumb is week 40 but have seen on irc a rare case where even 42 was ok
