@ It should put the fix in for iTunes. Also you can make ringtones in GarageBand (may also need perian).

@ As I said, install Perian. iTunes runs off QuickTime libraries, and Perian extends quicktime libraries.

@ .wav is just a container. It can store tons of different encodings, each of which needs its own codec.
