Finished Dan in Real Life. Lovely family/romantic comedy. Comes close to veering into cuteness but the performances keep it grounded.

Updated school blogs to latest version of WordPress MU. Took 2 hours, went flawlessly.
@dschmit I think it has to be nurtured and encouraged. If students are producing things that won't be read or heard by anyone, it won't work
@dschmit Yes, I think it can. It's like it completes the circuit, information comes in and now there's a way for it to get out.
Good news: After a lot of troubleshooting, I was able to get my school's blogs running on the new version of WordPress MU!
Going to try to restore my school's Wordpress blogs from a backup database. For testing purposes, in anticipation of moving to new version.
While I talked about Pages, another teacher discussed what she learned about doing student blogs. Worth reading: http://tinyurl.com/3fbyg2
Gave three 45-minute presentations on Pages today - showing teachers how they could use it, especially the Page Layout mode.
We had the third grade students comment on fourth graders' blogs and then write if they wanted one of their own: http://tinyurl.com/424tjm
@coolcatteacher Thanks for tipping me off to the Comment Challenge. http://tinyurl.com/6z3r2o What a great idea!
How can we expect teachers to use new tools when they can be yanked away (seemingly) so arbitrarily?
I've discovered my school district has started blogging pbwiki and wikispaces. No reason given. No notice given.
@markwagner About your presentations workshop - maybe you could show this video http://tinyurl.com/2g75b9 Discovered it on @wfryer 's blog
Watched Into the Wild last night. Very true to the book. Glad they didn't try to add contrived conflict to try to keep viewer's attention.
Facing another day of administering a state test. *yawn*
@chuckjoiner I was listening to your MacVoices show about the ATV Flash. It sounds great! Have you tried that device yourself?
Fascinating article: http://tinyurl.com/5ygy4l Do manipulatives in math make a difference? The study the article cites says no.
Great new web service I've been checking out: www.drop.io. Online file storage. Very easy. Might be a good alternative to USB pen drives.
Been working on an Animoto for our campus teacher of the year. Wow, does Animoto demand a lot of photos or what? http://tinyurl.com/5obp4b
What's more depressing in the U.S. Democratic Presidential race: That it's gone so negative or that the public keeps being persuaded by it?
