  1. NEW DATES for 2010 - MRI in Practice is coming to Croatia. JUNE 8th - 11th 2010. Venue TBC - but likely to be Dubrovnik.
  2. Tip of the Week: Uncomfortable, nervous or restless patient? Make sure you do the most important sequence FIRST. Get a diagnosis!
  3. A big thank you to all of the delegates who attended our UK course in Birmingham UK this week. Our Next UK course is March 8th - 11th 2010.
  4. TOTW: looking to improve SNR without a scan-time trade-off? Increase slice thickness -there is a trade-off in partial-volume effects however
  5. DATES: Following the huge success of the Iasi course, dates for ROMANIA 2010 are announced: October 18th - 22nd Venue will be in BUCHAREST.
  6. TOTW: Position the patient so that there are no skin-to-skin surfaces touching, this avoids the risk of burns due to antenna effect.
  7. Q of the D My STIR is too dark - should I change the TI? Answer - Yes, the TI is a powerful parameter - you may null too much fat signal!
  8. Hello from the the Leeds UK course. We will be posting any questions of the day - and also a Tip of the Week...
  9. Had a great time in Romania, looking forward to next years course in Bucharest - follow our tweets as an RSS feed for the dates!
  10. A: you performed enough repetitions to reconstruct an image - but still not enough SNR. So you collect the data twice - 2 signal averages.
  11. ...by the way - we have just had REALLY bad service from British Airways, who were entirely unapologetic (note to self - avoid BA!!)
  12. Greetings from the Romania Course Iasi. Question of the Day - what is meant by a signal average? Answer tomorrow...
  13. DATES for Sweden 2010 are now confirmed, the Stockholm course will run between 17th - 21st May. Please see www.mrieducation.com for details.
  14. Answer: The star (*) denotes that the dephasing is due to field inhomogeneity, rather than true T2 effects (molecular motional averaging)
  15. Copenhagen course - sold out! Question of the Day: "What does the star denote in T2* ?" Answer tomorrow...
  16. TOTW: Don't get hung-up on resolution, if your pixels/voxels are too small, there wont be enough signal to create an image in the time slot.
  17. ...back in September!
  18. No Tip of the Week??? We are on holiday!
  19. TOTW -Knee to big for the knee coil? Use wrap-around coil. Body coil has too much noise (from all of patient) not enough signal (small FOV).
  20. DATES for ROMANIA are now confirmed. 6th-9th October 2009. Look forward to seeing you in Iasi
