  1. We've reached Ulaan Bataar. Handed over the ambulance to the 'go help' charity. Huge thanks to all of our supporters.
  2. Last 3 days driving northern route through outer Mongolia. No roads, river crossings, driving straight over mountains.
  3. We're in Mongolia! Marmottes, eagles, horses and yerts for thousands of miles...amazing
  4. Being pulled over by russian police. Thats at least once in every country outside Europe
  5. 2 out of 5 recieved 'traditional Khazak food poisoning' then off to the Russian border. 8 hours or so there.
  6. Met history boys in Semey and stayed in old soviet hotel. Offered 'traditional Khazak cuisine' by friendly locals
  7. Thank you Anna and family for great couple days in Almaty. Back into steppe once cops stop pulling us over, say Landie too dirty.
  8. 'Plov' good, 'meat potato' to be avoided. Now 8 hours at the Khazakstan border probably half way through the process
  9. Nights stop in Samarkand. The Uzbeks are very cool folk. Heading to Tashkent for some 'plov'
  10. A brief search for viagra and cocaine, a lot of jokes i think at our expense and we're off into the desert feeling fairly dizzy.
  11. Crossed the border to Uzbekistan. The guards nicknamed me mafia and made me chew a handful of tobacco (i think)
  12. About to start the border crossing process into Uzbekistan..
  13. Turkmenistan. Bizarre gold statues, amazing locals, a night club out of the 80's and a fantastic convoy with ''barhat express'
  14. It's illegal to have a dirty car and there's an 11pm curfew.
  15. Over 400 dollars and 8 hours later we're past the Turkmenistan border control. Slightly concerned about the laws here
  16. Still on the ferry. Stuck outside Turkmenistan for at least another night. Countless games of cards and 20 questions....
  17. Unbelievable turn of events. Issued with visas and on the cargo ship bound for Turkmenistan all within 12hrs. Usually days. V lucky.
  18. 4.5 hours to cross Azerbaijan boarder. 350 miles of broken roads and a few bribes later we are in Baku. Sorting visa issue to get ferry ...
  19. Over an hour in the space between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Doesn't look like we'll make it to Baku tonight...
  20. Driving through Georgia getting lots of baffled looks. Dogs, horses, cows and pigs in the road.
