  1. @cara19 @Daniel4is -- Thank you. <3 <3 <3
  2. . . . and for all the good things he's done for me and for others. I wish you all could know such a kind, selfless soul.
  3. I continue to tell my father how much of an inspiration he's been to me, how grateful I am for the values he instilled in me, . . .
  4. I'm grateful for your outpouring of support. Many, many thanks. :)
  5. What an emotional rollercoaster of a week -- transferred dad to hospice care, followed by sitting vigil by his bedside, where I write today.
  6. A purple-hued dawn viewed from high above treetops is a visually stunning reminder that sunrises pair well with high-rises.
  7. Just became mayor of Memorial Hermann Hospital. #devoteddaughter #spendingwaytoomuchtimehere #needadultbeveragesstat #FakeFoursquare ;)
  8. RT @Malbonnington: Good piece on 'Mad Men' & the art of stealth branding - http://j.mp/8NRole (via @Gennefer)
  9. @mmcgovern Thanks. :)
  10. @pattidigh @MarilynM -- Thank you.
  11. Trying to communicate with dad via alphabet chart & his eyebrow movement – a la "The Diving Bell & the Butterfly." Post-stroke baby steps.
  12. @paulboutin Part of the novelty -- absolutely. (Have to say the mesh bag idea is a good one.) P.S. Glad to see your sense of humor's intact.
  13. @Daniel4is ;-) If my dad were cognizant of, well, anything, he'd get a laugh from knowing my aunt & I are attracted to one of his doctors.
  14. Hospitalize (v.): Trad. definition: to be admitted into hospital. Today's def.: to socialize with attractive doctor while visiting hospital.
  15. @paulboutin Re: hospital beds: What essential design improvements do you propose? (List, so far, incl. cup holders, electrical outlets.) :)
  16. Memorial Hermann Hospital System offers patient/guest WiFi access, but bans Facebook. The site doesn't contribute to a person's well-being?
  17. Via @Philanthropy: @chronicle's @marcparry's 'Conference Humiliation: They're Tweeting Behind Your Back' http://ow.ly/Dp6l (fyi: @mihaela_v)
  18. @TheBloggess A magic wand & (uncloudy) crystal ball are as welcome as jokes in such situations. I know too well: My dad had a stoke on Sat.
  19. (hopeful)
  20. Dear Memorial Hermann, Why did 2.5+hrs pass before dad, admitted 2 ur ER/Vascular Instit. by EMS who said he had a stroke, received aspirin?
