  1. Over 20 Oxford grad students, post-docs, and staff participated in our agent-based modelling workshop. They modelled predators and prey.
  2. Released a new UI and look and a guide to building predators and prey, in preparation for a workshop at U of Oxford tomorrow.
  3. My talk at UCL to the CASA group went very well. Interesting group of computational geographers. Nice dinner discussion afterwards.
  4. Oxford project models Western Front WW1 poetry experience in #secondlife see: http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ww... (via @ww1lit).
  5. Invited talk at the European Simulation and Modelling Conference about M4A went very well despite losing Internet connection for part of it.
  6. In preparing for epidemic modelling sessions with Oxford biology students discovered and fixed several bugs in latest release.
  7. New release supports new way to define parameters and add micro-behaviours to links among other improvements. http://tinyurl.com/yfslxnx
  8. Just met to plan our role in the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition -- http://tinyurl.com/ylbhqo4
  9. @MarcusduSautoy @davidowhite i wonder if the modelling4all software could be useful in maths learning? http://www.modelling4all.org
  10. Project will be awarded a Project Grant Teaching Award by the new Vice Chancellor of Oxford on the 24th Oxford - recognition always nice!
  11. Oxford Uni to use comp modelling to research how online social interaction influence individuals and societies: http://tinyurl.com/yh5ejzu
  12. Just wrote a blog too long for Twitter about parallels in modular construction in M4A and synthetic biology. http://tinyurl.com/yzvw9rq
  13. @modelling4all http://www.summerscience.or... at the Royal Society (via @mentalese)
  14. M4A will be a part of the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition on "Emerging infections: viruses that come in from the wild".
  15. how does one make a useful, predictive, aesthetic and fun to play simulation that hundreds of people can construct?
  16. Puzzling on how to create simple 'green IT' models that lots of people play and build upon - an internet emergent learning object (no less!)
  17. With ABM we can illustrate the whole system, rather than conveniently discount the important aspects. http://icio.us/afmsmk
  18. @KTDigital computer modelling can be used to inform decision-making, especially where changes need to be made to emergent systems...
  19. Spent some time tidying our website (http://modelling4all.org) comments and suggestions welcome!
  20. Interesting journal title: Interdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems: http://indecs.eu/
