  1. really enjoyed Curry: A Tale of Cooks & Conquerors by Lizzie Collingham. great collection of recipes, and a real bibliography to build on
  2. anyone from #Method out there? I'd like to get in touch
  3. RT @semanticwill: Looking for an strong SxD person who wants to be on a panel about designing social interfaces for Social Media Week, Feb 4
  4. @fred_beecher yes, advancement paths in agency vs. corp = different. most MBAs = 'promote me, i'm paying to step up the corp ladder'
  5. 4pm tea break w/ fresh baked madeleines and home made clementine compote
  6. RT @boz: @MoJoe sorta like Architects w/MBAs, PMs w/MBAs. Generally an impediment to execution [heh!]
  7. @docbaty only took you like 14 messages to get there ;)
  8. @docbaty was waiting for someone to mention Shedroff's program. anyone know someone who's gone through it / heard their experiences?
  9. @docbaty yes, all true.
  10. @docbaty good point - many orgs won't see the comb as doubly valuable - and there's little overlap in siloed structures (so far)
  11. @docbaty mba could be a good way to enhance qualitative & quantitative thinking combos - assuming the typical mba is quant heavy.
  12. @fred_beecher definitely - an MBA can add a lot to a design background - thought about doing one myself - but you need the right foundation
  13. @fred_beecher next one i see i'll send to you. my feeling was this follows biz flirtation with 'design thinking' as in "we know design now"
  14. RT @docbaty: @MoJoe *shakes head sadly* MBA + anything = management success. Haven't you read the brochures? [so true - maybe I'll join in?]
  15. @docbaty i don't think it's sufficient foundation to lead a design practice. does 2 yrs of excel & an HCI masters = a finance mgmnt role...?
  16. @fred_beecher these postings ask for wireframes and an MBA - hardly a balanced view of UX as a discipline and its relation to biz :)
  17. many director ux / e-commerce jobs asking for an MBA - it's 'design thinking' as owned by the biz types. pain & tomfoolery ahead for all...
  18. @21five recommend checking out one of the large saunas: hot rooms, cold rooms, massage, steam, etc.
  19. @21five err - seems I need to synch my profile settings for all social nets. Meanwhile, thanks Miles!
  20. @jvolzer if only one of my teachings takes root, this is a fine one.
