  3. Kids racing onto the bus for Chingachgook. Could there be more excitement?
  4. Pre K released a Monarch butterfly that just emerged. All are crowding around. Wow it's beautiful! Now let's go play.
  5. Pre K and 4-5's met outside as buddies. Fun with hula hoops and just running around. Prostrate 5th grader: "My buddy is too fast for me!"
  6. Band assembly this morning. Flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, snare drum...Excellent teacher - sign up now! George will also offer guitar.
  7. 4-5's brought in fruit and vegetables to describe and eat. There were cucumbers, watermelons, and an apple "sour as a sister on a bad day."
  8. Middle school is trying out having recess before lunch - reluctantly. They will give it 2 weeks then decide if it works.
  9. K-1's found a monarch chrysalis in the butterfly garden and one caterpillar. Where are the monarchs this year?
  10. I hear wild laughter from the music room! It's the K-1's playing Who's that hiding in the circle with George on guitar. Giggles galore!
  11. Preschoolers started today. There is so much to explore! Hamster, blocks, jewels, gowns, trucks, carpenter tools, Mr Potato Head...
  12. Life-size paper bodies all over the floor in 2-3. In K-1 animals are arranged around a watering hole. Big things in the works!
  13. Stepped in on 4-5's practicing animated immigrant speeches. 6-7's finished mini-thesis - celebration! Yippee!
  14. Hero of the hour - friends petitioning for favors - hand out popscicles - pull the fire alarm - write the blog. Just a normal Director day
  15. Alexis Diner with Jackson and friend Dylan. Milkshakes, cheeseburgers, and funny conversation. Boys took three trips to the bathroom
  16. Jackson is Director for the Day. He has already declared an extra recess and popscicles for everyone. And danced the twist at assembly.
  17. 4-5s were drawing a bicycle in art class - the detail and proportion were excellent! They have developed great eye and hand.
  18. 8th grade hung more of the Hudson on the walls - all the way to Manhattan - beautiful renderings of buildings.
  19. It's Olivia's birthday and we were going to bring you some cake but we came to tell you there is none left (quoth some K-1's)
  20. Owl pellets! owl pellets! bones! skulls! fur! other unidentifiable stuff! The coolest science class ever! (quoth a 2-3)
