  1. Just dried the last of the 25 wine glasses we used for last night's feast. Only four people (one doesn't drink wine), so that's a bunch!
  2. Ended dinner with homemade truffles -- bittersweet chocolate & raspberry, milk & vanilla. Pardon me while I roll on the floor & groan!
  3. Dessert: bittersweet chocolate mousse cappuccino with hazelnut meringue biscotti with decaf cappucino.
  4. Cheese course: Gouda, Smoked cheddar, fresh blue, Italian, with port-poached pears, caramelized pecans, fresh honey with comb & '87 port.
  5. Roasted Chateaubriand, caramalized onions, glazed golden beets, roasted mushrooms, mashed potatoes and wonderful sauces. Oh, I almost hurt!
  6. So why is he working at Target and she at Zales? 1. I don't have funds to create a restaurant for them. 2. They like having steady incomes.
  7. Oh, I forgot to tell you, my nephew and his wife are both graduates of the Culinary Institute of American, Hyde Park, NY.
  8. Don't tell my cardiologist, but beef coming up next! Then cheese, then dessert. We didn't have meals this good on our European cruise.
  9. Rack of lamb, caramelized onion polenta, asparagus, sauce Robert. This is so rich, but so tasty! French red wine 2005 Haute Medoc. Mmmmmmm!!
  10. Now we've had roasted butternut squash bisque with bacon, sour cream & pumpkin seeds, with more of the Chardonnay. Still 4 courses to go.
  11. Oh, and while we're enjoying this feast, we have light jazz in the dining room and TCU football in the living room. TCU scored. Go frogs!
  12. Boy, am I happy. Second course: giant wild-caught scallop, pan-seared, with risotto & 2008 Calera Chardonnay. (Glass closure.) So good.
  13. Sorry, Mmmmm for the duck and rice, not for the glass closure!
  14. First course: Cherry-glazed pan-seared duck breast with wild rice pilaf, accompanied by a 2007 Calera Pinot Noir (with glass closure). Mmmm.
  15. The festivities are beginning with a Champagne toast featuring a 1989 vintage Krug. Yummy.
  16. My favorite nephew named Robert and his sweet wife Amanda are preparing a gourmet seven-course dinner for Joe & me tonight, with wine.
  17. Cats win!
  18. End 8th, Cats 8, Pensacola 2
  19. Cats now leading 7-1 middle of 7th inning.
  20. Cats homer in 4th.
