  11. 12 deg at 9am, it's COLD. Goats have been in their coats for a couple days. This year's laying flock is more cold tolerant.
  12. Photography "hot light" doubling as a baby chick heat lamp. One 250W bulb wasn't keeping their brooder box above "frozen nugget" stage.
  13. 16 degrees right now - so far everyone seems to be holding up but we are waiting on light to take hot water to the goats
  14. looks like the cold, cold weather is supposed to stick around. I need to dig out the goat's coats.
  15. holy hell it's cold this morning - weather station said it was 27 outside when we woke up and the frost is so thick it looks like snow

  17. apple pie in the oven, vegies cut up for crudite, chickens to bed with lots of vegie scraps, and wine opened - bring on the holiday!
  18. the animals are trying to drive me crazy. The cats and dogs are chasing each other all over the house and the rooster crowed at a customer.
  19. For the record, with the new chicks our chicken count is currently 35. Just in case you were, you know, keeping track :)
  20. The beauty of working from home... I'm going to go give my dairy goats a mid-morning hug (and some hay)
