During regular usage without Fan Control, the MBP is fine. It's just this recent prolonged period of 100% CPU usage.
| @Gernot Yeah, I tried Fan Control. Fans spin up to 6k RPM, but CPU temp still creeps up past 100°C. Rest of the Temp sensors are fine. |
| Crap, the MBP keeps overheating (95-99°C) when pegging both CPUs. Auto shutdown once already, when it got to 100°C presumably... |

| BBQ dinner. Yum! |

| @fraserspeirs Awesome, congrats on the new car. You'll have to post how you like driving a hybrid... |
| @betizuka I was in Midland today and have been busy since then. I am going to try and give him a call back tomorrow. Sounds cool… enjoy! |
| @betizuka Really, what kind? |
| After a long time of no life outside of work, we're taking a few days here to catch up with projects around the house. Nice to take a break. |

| Another late night working... |
| I'll have to come back to this sometime later. Even though the NAS is slow, it would be cool to have a little embedded Linux box. |
| Still, there is an /etc on the disks. The hacker in me wants to try loading my own passwd, sshd, and others to override the flash versions. |
| Looks like most of the / filesystem (kernel, most of /etc, others) was in flash memory, not on the hard drives. |
| Hmm...the NAS was running Linux... mdadm --assemble --scan figured out the partitions and allowed me to mount them. Inspecting... |
| Moving 2 500GB drives from the NAS to a Linux box. |
| Hmm...4k messages in my spam box. time to empty this out. |
| @aaronvegh Congrats! Good luck on closing on the deal... |
| Computer store had "UV-sensitive SATA cables for $15, or I could just buy a normal one for $5. Guess which one I chose. |
