  1. Prices at Wikidot.com are back to normal values. I still this is a great deal compared to our competitors.
  2. Last day to upgrade your account with 50% discount: http://www.wikidot.com/plans. We give you back your money if you do not like it ;-)
  3. Looks like coffee can actually be useful: http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/coffee-caffenol-film-developing/
  4. Unicorn and Rainbows! (backed by EventMachine) rock as a web server. Even faster than Thin, and seems easier to manage.
  5. Second day without coffee. It would be so much easier without the delicious coffee in the office (kudos to http://konacoastcafe.pl)
  6. My first day without _any_ coffee. Wasted. I am pretty sure I am an addict.
  7. CouchDB replication consistency sucks. Need a heavy proxy layer for a multi-master cluster which destroys the simplicity and performance.
  8. In an automated datacenter the parts that cause most problems are humans. I would love EC2-style datacenter, minimal tech support.

  10. It's very trendy to create your own key-value storage engine nowadays...
  11. @ComcastGeorge Thanks!

  13. @pizzageek Yes, there is a problem with Comcast too :-(
  14. Hotmail over-rejecting emails? Yep. Trying to fix the issue for emails from Wikidot.com to our Hotmail users.
  15. Developing in Ruby is so much more fun than PHP. Almost pure fun.
  16. National holiday - Independence Day. Perfect time to implement ultra-fast append-only B+tree.
  17. Cannot pass 25k inserts per second with CouchDB...
  18. What is the record of inserts per second with Couchdb? I think I have hardware and motivation to break it today.
  19. Just got new cool 2-way in-ear headphones. They revealed that half of my mp3/aac music collection has poor quality, the rest sounds great!
  20. More infrastructure optimization at Wikidot.com today. Fast. Fast. Ultra-fast.
