  1. Mad Men starts up again on August 16. Hooray!
  2. Also, seriously wondering why @nathansmith didn't put overflow: auto; height: 1%; on the 960.gs classes. Afraid I'm breaking something.
  3. Found a lingering bug in the way IE8 hit-tests elements with transparent backgrounds. Fix for 6,7,&8 is "background-image: url(bogus.jpg);".
  4. @alexbischoff Serious about Windows 7. (The Longhorn project miscarried because everyone was throwing their science projects in. No more.)
  5. Just learned that the sentence, "大姑丈講中文" can mean, "Uncle, speak Chinese" or "Uncle is speaking Chinese"
  6. So glad this kind of thing won't happen anymore w/ Win7's new project management strategy: http://tr.im/illplayyourgame
  7. @chuckmallott Try putting Firefox + ActiveX plugin on a USB drive. Unless your prototype needs Safari, and then you sorta deserve it. ;-)
  8. Realized on the way home that Christian heaven is morally perfect, but potentially very shabby otherwise. Unsettling.
  9. Dear Twitter, CSS is not optional. Thanks.
  10. God I love the internet sometimes. http://bit.ly/167ekX
  11. @tinyfly "My dog is going to run around and poop, I think I'll tie him to the end of my arm first."
  12. I wonder if it will support Flash? (I like this question because either way, hilarity ensues.)
  13. One wonders /why/ they want to screw M$, as they don't meaningfully compete. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/...
  14. Apparently Google is doing a netbook OS. It's a decent strategy: screw M$ by flooding the market with cheap computers that can't run Office.
  15. @tinyfly Outstanding! Congratulations on your (effective) raise!
  16. Moved on to an article on BO. In Book III of the “Art of Love,” Ovid cautions women against carrying goats under their arms.
  17. I just found out that the inventor of TP had his name printed on every sheet. Why would you do that? Why am I reading this?
  18. @alexbischoff Also, there's a small chance that adding the /3GB switch to your virtual boot.ini file will curtail XP's memory usage.
  19. @alexbischoff If you haven't tried it already, it might be worth your while to defrag your XP drive, or kill it with fire and get Windows 7.
  20. @zeldman sure has been a rancorous SOB since his divorce.
