  1. An image of a product's thumbnail that's only 50% larger isn't really worth a "view larger image" enticement, morons - http://bit.ly/qz87c
  2. Thinking of putting tiny super glue blobs on certain keys on my new Kinesis keyboard so I can feel where they are. I do miss old layout :-(
  3. Ubuntu is perfect in every way. Speech recognition in Windows 7 isn't enough to make me leave Linux for Windows viruses and spyware.
  4. It's a pity voice recognition doesn't work with Pidgin in Windows 7 because Live Messenger is just so bloaty and ugly!
  5. Professor Ian Plimer replies to his critics: http://bit.ly/2hw0O0
  6. @FearTec76: Hmm. It wasn't that bad, I guess, but there were other issues that meant I'm not quite prepared to try Windows 7.
  7. Windows 7's voice recognition is OK (only UK English for Australians, sometimes an issue) but I can't see me giving up Linux for it.
  8. @FearTec76: I bought a copy of Windows 7 64-bit "ItsNotCheating" as well. Built-in voice recognition looks nice.
  9. I hate to say it but the complete lack of decent voice recognition software for Linux is making me contemplate Windows 7
  10. Kaspersky and his lame software for diseased operating systems can fuck right off: http://bit.ly/2GXDdZ
  11. "Microsoft and Google: The Good Guys" (http://bit.ly/RzmIj), and Apple = bad, of course :-)
  12. @FearTec76: Thanks for that. I didn't do any htaccess jiggery-pokery, though. Must be default config in Ubuntu (or Linux in general)
  13. Seems Apache lets me enter the URL to a PHP file without specifying the ".php" at the end. Very handy. Must find out why, one day...
  14. I couldn't care less if online newspapers charge for access. They're just so bloody irritating to navigate! Think of the time I'll save :-)
  15. Buying an ebook. Can choose currency: US$22.39 = AU$26.65, £13.68 = $26.10, and €20.12 = $35.39. Crikey, that Euro isn't cheap! GBP wins.
  16. I've never heard of "The Rave" but with a name like that it's probably crap anyway. #classic100
  17. @koyaaanisqatsi Forgot about WA time difference. Yes, excessive percussion ruined it for me. OK in Khachaturian's hands, though. #classic100
  18. A little more percussion than necessary at the end, but that wasn't too bad, really. Give the bongos a rest next time, though. #classic100
  19. Think I might tune into ABC tonight to see if Carl Vine's symphony is any good or a noisy, unmelodic, percussion-fest... #classic100
  20. Good read: "The Duct Tape Programmer" (Joel on Software) http://bit.ly/1bGgW7
