  1. Closing in on 15,000 in Wurdle. Maybe before the new year, I can break it. So close.
  2. Lost 4 umbrellas in NY libraries, some in minutes. To you frakking thieves, I hope you get splashed, catch pneumonia and suffer.
  3. SafariBooksOnline - new beta html view looking good. The frame is balky, but that's supposed to go away. Great to be getting it back.
  4. When you have so many movies on demand via Netflix, all those movies you wanted to watch, suddenly, meh, not so much.
  5. Anecdotal observation. Flushing library (teens): no Apple notebooks. NYC 42nd & 5th (20ish+), best guess 25% Apple.
  6. iPhone NYT app update an improvement w/respect to stability and download article speed. Full page ads and less screen space for text though.
  7. Wifi slowed to a crawl. Thought it was interference from neighbors. Had my notebook battery laying on top of DSL modem/router.
  8. Walked past a homeless guy eating an apple near Hudson & 14th yesterday. He was standing *in* the garbage can. Couldn't make out what said.
  9. I love CSPAN, but the anchors are just a tad creepy. Guess they have to keep a straight face when they get a crackpot caller.
  10. @safaribooks Please bring html book browsing back. The new features are great, but the reading experience is worse. Flash crashes FF.
  11. Have been using the new safaribooks format since it came out. Buggy, reading experience worse, lots of problems. Bring html back.
  12. Must be false alarms or little fires all over the place. The fire trucks sirens have not stopped all night. Incident in front of my apt too.

  17. Arrggh, it's marathon day, which means noisy helicopters for the next couple of hours. So much for a quiet Sunday.
  18. 2 laps around Central Pk with Halloween+Marathon makes for an interesting ride. Funniest costume was a guy dressed as an EZPass.
  19. New Safaribooks breaks if you have FF, Flashblock and VPN. Disabled FB & VPN to get it to work properly. This is why I don't like Flash.
  20. O'Reilly Safari Books Online - Never mind about the not working on iPhone comment. Mobile version is very good.
