  12. We want to recruit and grow among the new generation of workers who have not had the traditional reltionships to an employer, Warren says
  13. This could be extended to unions providing other benefits formerly done by employers: training, hiring, insurance coverage etc
  14. It's like the superannuation debate, where employers abandoned it and unions set up the industry-wide super funds
  15. Warren says the union needs to film that gap, of community, that employers do not fill
  16. As work becomes more contingent, the union needs to provide a sense of community (journos, performers, film makers)
  17. We are extending the ways we organise - now more around the types of work people do rather than around the employer
  18. This is casual, freelance work. For many people in our industries it has always been like that. But it is becoming the norm
  19. There's a dramatic change in the way work is done with a dramatic rise in contingent work
