  1. @cylus66 hush yer mouth! no need to be thinking that far ahead yet!
  2. Fantastic day. Went to church in 66 degree weather. Lazed around all afternoon. Played at the BEACH...in Michigan...in November!
  3. @LiteMochaMom I mean would you prefer essay style (like my blog), more how-to-ish, workbook style, etc?
  4. @thinkingmonkey that's so cool! Some of my fondest memories of childhood are of the little freedoms I was granted. I felt so capable.
  5. Thinking of turning Happiest Mom concept into a book. Q1: would you read it? Q2: What format do you think would be most helpful/enjoyable?
  6. My good friend Jennifer Margulis, a new blogger at Mothering, has a brand-new home-birthed BABYGIRL! http://bit.ly/2xF65B
  7. @laurathemum yes--and this was in an even smaller little rural town near our church.
  8. @lauriewrites I should have said something to the management. Wish I had. I was sort of flustered by the whole thing, until later.
  9. @lauriewrites I said I thought they seemed resourceful. Then she said she doesn't like kids walking places. After that I was like uhhhh
  10. Maybe the rude waitress could learn something from their parents instead of judging. Ugh.
  11. I thought it was great. They came in with $4 and said "What can we get with this?" Then told everyone to have a nice day when they left.
  12. @Riarocco It made them feel bad, too. It's a TINY diner--those kids knew they were being talked about. Over and over.
  13. I think it's so strange and sad when BIG kids learning to navigate their own little world is seen w/suspicion & judgment.
  14. Kids were polite, well cared for, obviously lived close by & knew what they were doing. What is the big deal?
  15. went to restaurant for bfast & waitress loudly gossiped to every table about two 10-11 YO kids who'd walked there alone.
  16. even better than babies in stripey jammies--babies in stripey tights. OMG STRIPEY TIGHTS!!!
  17. check out my cousin's baby's awesome entry in the @motts Halloween costume contest! http://bit.ly/2mVFAC
  18. Okay, I'm off. hope #livebirth goes well. Let's not forget this mom only gets one 1st birth. It's interesting to us but so personal to them.
  19. @flowers13 True, but it's a big loss. you never get that first birth and first baby back. You know?
  20. @flowers13 it makes me sad for her, honestly. I hope she's not kicking herself later.
