  1. (Best line from the talk: "And we all know it takes a *long* time to provision a new meatcloud resource.")
  2. I want to find myself a job/contract doing a large scale, automated-infrastructure cloud deployment. I'd be ace at it. Who wants me?
  3. Just watched an awesome talk from Adam & Ezra @ Velocity 09 on automating your infrastructure: http://bit.ly/IiCMY
  4. @gavinmontague And, o/~ Oooh, do you know what that's worth? o/~
  5. @semanticist foo.bars(false) should force the association to be loaded afresb?
  6. A 40" TV isn't going to fit snugly in the corner where our 26" CRT is. Now working on a 55" to replace the mirror over the fireplace. :-)
  7. So. Freeview HD is 2012. Basically, HD broadcast telly is still very much for the early adopters, yes?
  8. @fraserspeirs And then split(1)ing it over multiple floppy disks to get it home, only to discover one of the disks was knackered? #olddays
  9. So. Receiving HD broadcast television in the UK. What are the options? Freesat HD, Sky+ or Virgin? Is that it? Is there a Freeview HD?
  10. @alancfrancis People who have noise cancelling headphones and decent battery life. :)
  11. Just secured a safe house in Shanghai, PRC. #spymaster http://bit.ly/playspy
  12. How come I hadn't noticed Core Data was available in the iPhone until today? (New to 3.0, apparently.)
  13. @alancfrancis My common use case for it is quickly making an unrelated change while I'm working on something nearby.
  14. Trying my luck. Offering to write a Ruby client for a company's API if they'll give me free service to develop and maintain it. :-)
  15. @alancfrancis Commit != push. Isolating atomic changes into individual commits is a *huge* win.
  16. @craigwebster Huh? I thought courgette == zuchinni?
  17. @dneighbors What makes you say that? I'm looking for resilient storage for photos and Time Machine backups.
  18. So, Drobo is getting the most votes. That's cool. I take it @fraserspeirs' problems a while back haven't put anyone off?
  19. Resilience in the face of individual disk failures is a necessity. Performance is a bonus.
  20. If I was looking for a decent external storage solution to attach to my laptop (sitting at my desk), what would you recommend?
