  1. I've just been subjected to my first Christmas advert on tv, for sainsburys. Sadly, I think it's due to my sheltered televisual lifestyle.
  2. @objo did it rain while you were here this time? Can't say I noticed the weather being bad.
  3. @craigwebster Is there more to life? I'd kill for the shiny new hybrid IS macro lens...
  4. @underflow_ Good advice. Is there a canonical ordering that should shape an ActiveRecord model?
  5. (An hour's debugging compressed into 280 characters. How depressing.)
  6. If you rely on AR having autosaved associations in your after_create callback, make sure you declare it after the has_many declarations.
  7. Just got tripped up by the order you declare stuff in an ActiveRecord model affecting the order after_create hooks run in.
  8. @Alshie So it's working as advertised then? ;-)
  9. The morning has been spent on a bear hunt. (We're not scared!) This afternoon is more of a bug hunt back in the office...
  10. Puking kids FTL. That's a full vomit-filled week now.
  11. Ah! It's `link_to :method => "delete"` that's tripping me up, which is itself a click handler, with higher priority. Argh!
  12. @Caius Well at least that's not what I'm doing wrong... I think it's just one of these Friday afternoon things. :-/
  13. (I thought you just returned false in a click event to stop the browser also following the href in an anchor tag?)
  14. Just in case it wasn't clear, it's a mutual loathing between me and Javascript. This is why I make @mconnell do all the JS work.
  15. MyPolice, winners of @sicamp, need a holistic Ruby developer in Glasgow: http://bit.ly/2laf1v
  16. @fraserspeirs I always kinda figured that if it was at really low speeds (like 2mph) the bumper elastically absorbed so no harm, no foul?
  17. @gavinmontague The Brewdog event was certainly a good 'un. So that's your app? Shiny.
  18. @gavinmontague Oops, had it clicked it was one of yours I wouldn't have mocked so publicly. Still no such thing as bad publicity, eh? ;-)
  19. Bad marketing #134: associating whisky and personal ads. Personal ads columns full of 10-15 year olds don't look good. http://bit.ly/1Zp9RZ
  20. @alancfrancis Oh, wait, new image: "Cause of death: Aeron chair forcibly inserted into rectum." :-P
