  1. @civileater Oh yay! Of all the jams I've made so far this year, sour cherry is by far my favorite.
  2. @maggiejane I have made those cookies sans chocolate and they are exceptional. Make sure that you don't let them get too crispy.
  3. @Lelonopo Mmm, grilled pattypan. So good. It's also amazing when sliced into wedges, steamed and coated w/ butter and salt.
  4. @Lelonopo good god, that is a lot of squash! I'm jealous of your pattypan production though, I'm not sure my plant will make more than one.
  5. @aehorton, I'm with @pishdeluxe. That recent tweet of yours was wonderful. It would make a terrific first line of a short story.
  6. As a kid, my very favorite play thing was my Sesame Street kitchen. These are even better: http://bit.ly/p8ouo
  7. Turkey burgers with red onion and peas inside, cauliflower puree, sauteed chard and a few leftover beets. Good dinner!
  8. Wishing that the email with the subject line "ice cream" that is currently in my inbox meant that I was getting a scoop of butter pecan.
  9. @glutenfreegirl the National Center for Home Food Preservation offers an online self study program. http://www.uga.edu/nchfp/
  10. @maggiejane oh god, that breaks my heart. We lived at 25th/Pettygrove when I was in high school and I went in that store all the time.
  11. Ask and receive - community supported seafood in Philly! http://otolithonline.blogsp...
  12. @styggiti We get pretty good fish in Philly, but with all the warnings about mercury and sustainable fishing, I don't know what to buy.
  13. Now here's a community supported food program I'd like to join: http://bit.ly/1845Si
  14. I love Willie Nelson. He reminds me of dad's oldest brother.
  15. @sarahgilbert I hope the chocolate mint syrup turned out well!
  16. There's a guy on this bus who is asking every newly boarded passenger if they're interested in buying some socks.
  17. Fingers are still stained from all the sweet cherries I pitted on Monday. Talk about some vividly colored fruit!
  18. @sarahgilbert from what I've read, chocolate mint makes the best syrups and extracts. But I used plain mint and it tastes dandy.
  19. @sarahgilbert Yes! I can't tell you how much I'd love some sweet onion jam. We could do a jam swap!
  20. @tea_austen Oh! Hooray for Whitties! I was, in fact, there during the Cronin years. I graduated in 2001.
