  1. So to a happy early night to rest for the Forbidden City next day. http://YesYouCash.truewealt...
  2. We also found a little shop right opposite our hotel where we could buy essentials like wine and Diet Coke!
  3. , instead of having a huge portion plonked in front of you. We were in the mood for fish and vegetables and I have to say it was yummy.
  4. I have to say that I really love the Chinese style of eating, where you choose a selection of dishes and just share them,
  5. We decided not to be too adventurous on our first night and entered a restaurant with bilingual signs in the window and tablecloths
  6. and our first taste of Tsingdao beer, in a roadside stall. After yet another sleep it was time to think about dinner.
  7. but we wisely left that until we were awake and just wandered round, generally getting our bearings
  8. , and explore our surroundings. Our hotel was ideally situated within walking distance of the Forbidden City;
  9. , which was wonderful as we were SOOOOOOO tired! After a much-needed sleep we ventured out to find basics like an ATM and bottled water,
  10. the friendly staff spoke excellent English and, despite arriving at the crack of dawn, we were able to check in immediately,
  11. town so I can only conclude that it must have been very new or something. I certainly could not fault the hotel –
  12. , which is fortunate because our hotel proved difficult to find. It was a large hotel in the centre of town
  13. We of course got ripped off by the taxi driver, but not too badly and at least he was friendly and spoke reasonable English,
  14. However, we all passed through without incident.
  15. I’m terrified of doctors at the best of times; never mind being the other side of the world and not speaking the language!
  16. Of course, I knew China was a totalitarian state but that really brought it home to me
  17. and we are informed that we could be forced to submit to a medical examination!
  18. Somewhat scary however is the fact that the ‘plane is quarantined due to paranoia about swine ‘flu
  19. 15th July 2009 Arrive Beijing at the crack of dawn, already 27 C – YAY!
  20. My business: http://YesYouCash.truewealt... Genuine marketing opportunity
