  1. interesting. Just followed by @beacon_io, who are about to launch a hosted AMQP service. That'd reduce me some hassle. beta please ! :)
  2. nginx behaving very strangely. Unconvinced.
  3. @mattb that's because the vast majority of it is horrible crap, not because you're a snob.
  4. managed to completely break my python by installing pinax in a virtualenv. Think my competence is to blame, not that of pinax devs.
  5. ah, problem with @rackcloud was sorted quickly. Good.
  6. @t twitter used to allow animated images as avatars, I believe they now don't (but didn't delete the images of those that had them).
  7. it's interesting how @slicehost + @awscloud have changed my expectations in terms of how quickly I should be able to get a server.
  8. @danudey apologies - someone beat you to it..
  9. @rackcloud I think it might have something to do with my combination of UK business and US phone number.
  10. @rackcloud I found someone (@claytonlz), but waiting for a phone call back about verification.
  11. now that was weird. signed up for @rackcloud account, called to verify account, was told I'd be called back, and my account is now suspended
  12. @claytonlz done !
  13. anyone have a rackspace cloud referral code I should use ? @danudey ?
  14. @currybet I would, but it would mostly be profanities.
  15. thinks it's really sad that the uk-government-data-developers list has already descended into a bloody argument about RDF or non-RDF.
  16. @mattbeedle personally, I'd mix, especially if you're building something with real-time streaming functionality or similar.
  17. @mattbeedle a good developer should be able to do both, but will inevitably be better at one or the other.
  18. reading @ppk's opinions on iphone app stores + web apps http://bit.ly/5Q7Y2v - worth reading if you're an iphone or mobile web developer.
  19. @ribotminimus @ribot do you think that's something you can scale? (if you even want to ?)
  20. @simonw @asksol ah, nice. And so far as I recall, STOMP is pretty simple (certainly compared to AMQP)
