  3. I am looking at how much investment an organization can handle. Obvious bottleneck in management capacity, but what else can hinder returns?

  7. I am impressed with the variety of small farmers in Zambia. Some are organized and willing to take risks, others are much too vulnerable.
  8. Broken down for the 2nd time in 12 hrs. Someone please train mechanics in Zambia. Unsafe vehicles + corrupt officers=unnecessary accidents.

  10. I am continually impressed by kiva.org - connecting people and providing much needed capital. Now they even have currency protection.
  11. I finished my first set of interviews with farmers/entrepreneurs. Noticed that women are more humble, so difficult to tell motivation level.
  12. @bill_easterly and @gentlemandad - obviously its tough to know two worlds inside-out. But good point that knowledge can be a big barrier.
