Looking for something like foaf:img that defines a representation of an organisation...a kind of foaf:avatar. Raised question on FOAF list.
| markbirbeck Don't get me wrong...I love Google spam filtering. But what does it take to filter out "MICROSOFT WINNING NOTIFICATION"? |
| markbirbeck Not very helpful that people entitle their blog posts things like "RDFa vs. Microformats". Say "there's a war" enough, and there will be. |
| markbirbeck @wnalyd There's no accessibility problem with RDFa. In fact, same people also produced @role, which is used in ARIA...for accessibility. |
| markbirbeck Excited at @quech's designs for our semantic desktop app, based on @swviewer. (We submitted idea to TechCrunch50 as a way to galvanise us!) |
| markbirbeck Added blog post this morning about the BBC's decision to stop using hCalendar, and look at RDFa: http://is.gd/EMN |
| markbirbeck @emacsen Not sure what an "RDFa-enabled iCal parser" would be. :) Can you explain? |
| markbirbeck RDFa is now a candiate recommendation. First story on the W3C home page. |
| markbirbeck @ebruchez Yes...I wouldn't connect to someone else's computer. :) But this is different, I think. See: http://is.gd/vLD |
| markbirbeck @Nico_Macdonald Got messages. Sorry for not replying, but in Amsterdam for 2 day conf. Back this evening, and will then sort things out. |
| markbirbeck XHTML 2 Working Group just voted that latest draft of the RDFa Syntax document (http://is.gd/v6L) is ready to take to CR. Great news... |
| markbirbeck @jdeisenberg @dpawson We've also launched an Ajax/XForms processor: http://is.gd/uYY It's a joint project between us & IBM. (Also Apache 2) |
| markbirbeck @jdeisenberg @dpawson C++ XForms processor: http://is.gd/uZ1 IE/Windows-specific wrapper for it: http://is.gd/uZ3 (both Apache 2.0) |
| markbirbeck Details on the BBC's 'Media Futures' Conference are now available: http://is.gd/tLY Places are limited, and going fast. |
| markbirbeck @neuraxon77 For some reason the video doesn't display in FF, but images do. All is ok in Safari and IE. |
| markbirbeck @neuraxon77 Reminds me of some ideas I was playing with for 'compact HTML', to aid embedding images and videos in Tweets: http://is.gd/pJy |
| markbirbeck @edd And RDF and extensibility are at centre of @role. I guess it's mark of success that when others use it they think they invented it. :) |
| markbirbeck @edd Saw your comments on ARIA, RDF, etc. Irony is that ARIA isbuilt on work by me and others on @role. No-one conceived of it before that. |
| markbirbeck My tech talk at Google last week is now online: http://is.gd/otC Includes description of RDFa, and rich UI demos (they're 20 minutes in). |
| markbirbeck Just uploaded my #kingsofcode talk, on web languages (XForms, RDFa, etc.) as source of 'hooks' for unobtrusive JavaScript : http://is.gd/nPp |
