  1. Freenode rocks, Just had an issue with ChanServ, they helped me immediately, and also k-lined some script kiddie instantly.
  2. @sebr ROFL :)
  3. On a related note, Ryan Paul from Ars Technica has tested the KDE SC 4.4 beta 1: http://tinyurl.com/ryan-44beta
  4. "Where we're going, we don't need roads." :)
  5. Sometimes, when watching KDE's awesome development speed, and seeing how far we have come, I can't help thinking of this:
  6. @purzelrakete Very nice, actually. Just discovered that the Swiss probably make the best chocolate in the world, #nomnomnom :)
  7. A Follow-up to my post about Gibson: Found an interview (from 2009) with Henry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxwMyrk5MLQ&ftm=18
  8. @purzelrakete Heh. Btw, your new avatar looks funky, with the shades and all ;)
  9. I've blogged about an interesting event in my life, meeting the boss of Gibson Guitar: http://tinyurl.com/meeting-henry
  10. Should stop this smoking thing (did for a year or so, then started a bit again). Latest studies have shown that tobacco is _not_ healthy...
  11. @hades Not really. With a journaled file system (ext 4), plus a BNC for IRC, a reset is often less painful here.
  12. @tseeker 12 Gigs vs 4 Gigs probably makes the difference (plus the extra cores). But hey, 4 Gigs should suffice, wouldn't you agree?
  13. @keyist Couldn't really use the keyboard or anything any more. In the end I did hard-reset the box, was easier.
  14. Starting a compile job and an apt-get upgrade at the same time, you can already head toward the kitchen for some coffee.
  15. Interactivity is still one of the main issues with Linux. Dual-core machine, 4 Gigs, Kernel 2.6.31, getting the box into thrashing is easy.
  16. Markey meets drunk farmers, hilarity ensues. (I was lucky to have some good music on my Sansa, it wouldn't have been bearable w/o.)
  17. Went to a Xmas-market here in our remote corner of Switzerland. Let's just call it a Sheldon'esque experience :)
  18. Err, the correct link would be this: http://eisbonbons.de/Shop/media/images/1500-eisbonbon.jpg
  19. Got a question I've been wondering about for ages: How is the taste of this "ice candy" stuff made? Looks like this: http://2tu.u7dz
