  1. Anyone who comes to the Manga University booth (925) at AX today wearing an MU T-shirt will receive a gift (while supplies last).
  2. Today's Word: ソフトクリーム: Soft Ice Cream. One of Japan's favorite summertime treats, ソフトクリーム was introduced to Japan this week in 1951.
  3. @joyphillip Not a bad idea at all! We'll look into it.
  4. @Kiq2 Yes, tacos! The best tacos in Japan, by the way, are made right in the Manga University Culinary Institute's own kitchens :-)
  5. Today's Word: 蛸(たこ): Octopus. While the MU crew is here in LA eating tacos, the Japan Octopus Research Organization celebrates たこ day!
  6. Stop by Anime Expo Booth 925 on Saturday for two more "Manga Cookbook" demonstrations: oshinko at 11 a.m., and onigiri at 3 p.m.
  7. Four hours till Anime Expo its doors. Manga University is ready for the fun! Visit us in Booth 925!
  8. We'll be doing our show-stopping "Manga Cookbook" cooking demonstrations at Anime Expo again this year. Booth 925. Be there or go hungry ;-)
  9. It's setup day at Anime Expo. Time to break out the cases of "Manga Tarot." Buy it at Booth #925 and get a free reading (time permitting)!
  10. Only 2 more days until Anime Expo. Heading to LA today, setting up our booth (#925) tomorrow. See you Thursday! http://www.anime-expo.org/
  11. Today’s Word: すいか(すいか)Watermelon. すいかわり is a popular summertime game in which the goal is to smash a watermelon while blindfolded.
  12. Today’s Word: 波乗り(なみのり)Surfing. While many people just say サーフィン, the Japanese word is much cooler: 波乗り literally means “riding the wave.”
  13. Less than a week to go till Anime Expo! Manga University (booth #925) will be there. Will you? http://www.anime-expo.org/
  14. Today’s Word: 海(うみ)Ocean. It wouldn't be summer in Japan without a trip to the 海, which often takes the place of the word ビーチ.
  15. Today’s Word: 池 (いけ)Lake. Even for an island country, Japan has no shortage of 池, which are often centerpieces of Japanese gardens.
  16. Today’s Word: 濡れる(ぬれる)To Get Wet. Whether you're taking a a dip in the pool or just plain sweating, even a dry summer can turn wet fast!
  17. Today’s Word: 泳ぐ(およぐ)To Swim. If you're trying to cool off during the summer, nothing beats spending the day swimming at the ビーチ (beach).
  18. Today’s Word: 夏(なつ)Summer. Once the rainy season begins to wane, Japan’s humid summer really starts to sizzle. あつい (atsui; it's hot)!
  19. Today’s Word: 六月の花嫁(ろくがつのはなよめ)June Bride. The weather may not be great, but the Japanese still love June 結婚式 (kekkonshiki; weddings).
  20. Today’s Word: レインコート Raincoat. Because Japan's rainy season is also quite warm, wearing a レインコート is usually out of the question.
