  4. FCC talks about wireless spectrum plan. And they are taking a three- pronged approach.
  5. I like my job but am so happy I am not a lawyer- particularly a communications lawyer. I think all the reg would make me fall asleep.
  6. FCC task force talking about revising the Universal Service Fund. Now talking about uniform pole attachment rates to encourage more infra.
  7. At the FCC December meteting. They are discussing policy for the national broadband plan. Nothing new has been talked about yet.
  8. Ben Scott of Free Press suggests giving broadband free of charge to all school age children as a public service. Interesting idea.

  14. Will the Comcast/NBC merger be good for consumers? I need to do a story exploring this. I just don't know. Would love any thoughts on this.
  15. Copps:FCC will look closely at the Comcast/NBC merger. But he said media consolidation is far from over. One merger leads to another.
  16. Copps said that 47 states don't have registered reporters covering the Hill. That is sad. Journalism and informing public is very important.
  17. In DC at telecom reg event. FCC com. Copps spoke about the sad state of journalism in this nation. newspaper closings; financial pressures.
  18. Citizens have access to ecomap info and can see how green their nabes are. SF mayor hopes people will see it as a challenge & make changes.
  19. San Francisco and Amsterdam are using this ecomap tool to analyze data about emissions etc. And they are using the info to make changes.
  20. At a Cisco telepresence event listening to talk of its Urban Ecomap product and initiative.
