  1. Just looked at the shortlisted videos for the Guardian/NT competition inspired by Terry Prachett's Nation. The creativity is just lovely.
  2. Honk at Royal and Derngate in Northampton. Completely charming. How come Stiles and Drewe have never quite matched the promise of this show?
  3. Rupert Goold redefines what he means by regional theatre being moribund in comment on my Golden Age blog up on Guardian website.
  4. How can the arts adapt to changing funding environment? Ben Cameron of Doris Duke Foundation inspiring at Mission Models Money event today

  8. Just booked my tickets for Devoted and Disgruntled. Noticed not a huge number left, so hurry because its a brilliantly invigorating weekend.
  9. La Clique at the Roundhouse. Still as slyly sexy and subversive as as ever. Thought the Roundhouse may be too big, but it feels intimate.
  10. The Bush's new site for writers and anyone looking for new plays looks fantastic. Check it out at www.bushgreen.org
  11. Nic Green's superb Trilogy coming to Barbican & BAC in Jan. Looking for brave female volunteers. A life-changing show. Email Sally@bac.org
  12. Lisa Goldman quitting as Soho Theatre's artistic director in summer 2010 to pursue other interests. Will be plenty of candidates for the job
  13. This Wide Night at Soho Theatre. Chloe Moss's play for Clean Break is as tender as a bruise.
  14. Two hours into roman tragedies. Four to go.
  15. Andrew Hilton's Uncle Vanya at BOV is merciless and very funny. SATTF on top-form, great to see BOV and Tobacco Factory working together
  16. John McGrath's National Theatre of Wales first season is a thing of wonders. Feels as if all my theatrical Christmasses have come at once.
  17. Forest Fringe, Fuel and Cock Tavern all winners in todays Empty Space Peter Brook Awards. A sign of the changing theatrical times.
  18. Strangely off-kilter revival of Ghosts at Octagon Bolton on Friday. Can only hope that the production gains confidence during the run.
  19. Quarantine's Make Believe at Contact: invigorating theatre that doesn't ask you to suspend your disbelief but makes you question knowledge
  20. Mouthwatering prospect: John Tiffany & Black Watch team stage David Greig's Victorian Edinburgh version of Peter Pan next summer for NTS
