  6. on this codebase 'make' always takes quite a while. instead I hacked make's original error printout to be easier to spot in the scrollback.

  11. impressed with openwrt. builds a complete useful linux distro image of 5MB uncompressed, boots in under 10 seconds on kvm. low-fuss.

  18. @BruceHoult by being defined in terms of C structs anyway :-) and using union types so that most messages have to be way padded.
  19. NETLINK wire protocol is very C-centric..
